Hud Horton takes inaugural Midwest Mini Sprint Association event

The very first MMSA race is now in the books, 23 cars signed in to Moler Raceway Park.

3 heat races of the 1000cc mini-sprints kicked off the night with # 2b Jeff Barnhart winning the first heat, # 86 Andy Bradley winning the second, and # 1r Nick Roberts taking the third.

On the first attempt to start the feature, # 44 Seth Motsinger spun coming off turn 4, collecting #83 Kenny Burr. Burr’s machine tipped over, bringing out the red flag. Both drivers were unhurt, but were unable to continue. On the restart Hud Horton from his outside pole starting position jumped out to the early lead. Only to be challenged late by # 2b Jeff Barnhart, Horton held on to win the inaugural Midwest Mini-Sprint Association Feature. Rounding out the top 5 were #29E Chris Eick, #09 JR Douglas, and #1x Scott Bradley. Ryan Broughton made an impressive run, earning the hard charger award, finishing 6th, after starting 22nd. Also making an impressive run was the # 18 of Todd Keen, finishing 10th in a 600cc powered car.
